As mentioned in a news item earlier this year, the New Zealand Domain Name Commission a few months ago questioned a group of domain users and found significant support for a simple top-level .nz domain.
Now, as an even stronger indicator of things to come, the New Zealand Domain Name Commission has started a consultation process on the prospect of allowing second level .NZ domains, ie. mycompany.nz rather than the current mycompany.co.nz.
