.CO.OM full regulations:
The domain name should be an obvious derivation of the Applicant's official name, one of its registered trademarks, or represents one of its activities. A copy of any official documents showing the relationship between the proposed domain name and the name of the organization is required i.e. a scanned copy of commercial registration of the applicant company. This can be a company based anywhere in the world. If the certificate is not in English, a simple translation should be included (we can help with some translations, or send us a .pdf so we can copy the text).
A signed letter requesting each domain name registration. We will assist in preparing the letter(s).
If the domain name(s) you are applying for are not at least a partial match or abbreviation of your company name of trademark, you will be asked to provide documentation proving or indicating the relation between yourselves and the desired domain name. Such documentation could be in the form of a Trademark, Copyright, Patent, Product sheet or even another Domain Name. In case you need a matching trademark, we can provide one from a fast-lane service at a cost of approximately 150 USD (2-3 days).
Detailed disclaimer for .CO.OM domain names registration:
Any domain names applied for are subject to a verification by the Omani authorities. If they decide to classify a domain as "premium" the registration fee may differ and we will inform you for ultimate approval. Otherwise, you will receive a refund minus cost.
Domain name registrations are non-transferable between unrelated organizations. A domain can only change ownership if the holding entity is acquired, merged, or dissolved—at which point the domain may be reallocated.
No Domain Flipping: Registering domains solely to resell them to other entities is strictly prohibited. Violating this rule will result in the immediate revocation of all domains owned by that registrant.
The Deletion and Re-registration Method: To move a domain to an unrelated organization, the current owner must actively delete it so the new organization can immediately apply to register it.
No Guarantees: This deletion process operates on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no guarantee of success, as external parties may register the domain the moment it becomes available.
