Twenty years after its connection to the Internet, Poland ranks first within the European Union in terms of domain growth. The number of .pl domain names increased by 23% in 2010, thus doubling its numbers over the past two years, reaching 2 million on the night of January 4, 2011.
According to data by the Polish Central Statistical Office, 65.5% of all businesses had their own website in 2010 (compared to only 53.2% in 2007), while access to the Internet was available to 63.4% households (41% in 2007).
